How you can help the Exeter Foundation this Christmas
Christmas is upon us and we don’t have long left to buy presents, prep the turkey and put up the decorations. However, make sure you spare a moment to think about those less fortunate than you this Christmas. Give the gift of charity by generously helping the Exeter Foundation, Astley Media’s chosen charity for 2016.
So, what can you do to help the Exeter Foundation this Christmas?
The Elderly – Age UK
Keep an eye on your elderly neighbours – a quick knock on the door and a half an hour chat over a cuppa can make all the difference to a lonely elderly person this Christmas. Make sure they have some company and are not alone, particularly on Christmas day. Invite them round for a Christmas drink, give them a Christmas card and let them know you are there.
A simple gesture such as inviting them round or going to their house to watch your favourite TV shows together will go a long way.
Children – ELF, Families for Children, Vranch House
Clear out your own children’s toys (to make way for new toy’s this Christmas) and donate them to one of the charities. You will be making way for Christmas presents whilst giving presents to children less fortunate.
Before your company breaks for Christmas, think about making one of the charities your Charity of the Year for 2016.
Consider sponsorship opportunities for various charity events.
Have a fun day in the office – make Christmas cards for children, wear your Christmas jumpers and raise money for the charities, have a Christmas cake bake.
Thinking about starting a family in the New Year? Have you considered adoption or know someone who is willing to adopt? Urge them to look into Families for Children.
Headway is selling their own range of Christmas puddings, all profits will go to the charity so buy your puddings from Headway today! They can be purchased from the XCentre on Exeter Quay, over the phone by calling 01392 211822 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Create as much social media activity as you can – shout about what you are doing for charity to encourage others this Christmas
