Two Fantastic Launch Days for Stagecoach
A brilliant launch event was held on the 15th of June as the retired seasider bus ‘Hattie’ received a makeover, becoming a new community bus.
Members of the community and representatives from Age UK turned out for the ‘Hattie’ launch to see for themselves the transformation from Seasider to Community bus.
Hattie proved popular with visitors on the launch day, with everyone enjoying the activities held inside and outside the bus, which included games, competitions and ‘Knit and Natter’, as well as refreshments.
Stagecoach East Midlands will be using the new space to encourage people to come together in the community and ‘get chatty with Hattie’. The event was aimed at older people to highlight that the bus can encourage those who are less active, or feeling isolated, to socialise in the community.
Then, on the 19th of June, Stagecoach East Midlands celebrated the launch of eleven new double decker buses with a fun day of pizza, music and competitions at Nottingham Old Market Square.
The Sheriff of Nottingham, Catherine Arnold, attended the event, showing her support for the the brand new high-spec double-decker buses.
Doubling the capacity on the popular Nottinghamshire Pronto service, the new Euro 6 standard emissions buses replaced the single-deckers on 20th June, and are fitted with USB ports and Wi-Fi.
